One Economy is an initiative led by The Director’s Council. The initial report published in 2017 showcased their research of the racial and economic disparities across Polk County facing African Americans. In 2020, it was followed up by a blueprint for actions and strategies about how Polk County can address these disparities. The report focused on 5 key areas: Employment, Financial Inclusion, Education, Housing, and Health. The Director’s Council and the One Economy (STI) groups are now in the process of putting the strategies and actions of the report into real change in our communities.
